Society of Independent Roundabout Proprietors
The society of Independent Roundabout Proprietors is open to professional and semi-professional showmen, who operate good quality equipment.
The list of qualifying items includes rides and games which are pre-war, wooden framed, steam driven, or hand-turned. Early electric driven items also qualify.
Owners of travelling or static arcades which feature solely vintage slot machines may also apply for membership.
Owners of equipment which has been altered from the original form and modern reconstructions will be considered for Associate Membership.
Associate Membership is also open to slot machine dealers, fairground dealers and showman’s decorators.
The 2015/16 full annual membership fee, payable at the November meeting, is £30.00, which includes £5.00 contribution to the Legal Fund.
Late payments (those made after the November meeting) will only be accepted until the end of the following February, and incur a surcharge of £5.00.
If payment is not received by that date membership ceases.
New members are considered at each meeting by a vote of the current members.
The Society does not operate through a committee. At all meetings members have one vote.
It is a condition
of membership that all equipment has an ADIPS
(Amusement Device Inspection Procedures) test.
Proof of this and also Public Liability Insurance must be sent both on first application to join and every subsequent renewal of membership.
Membership cannot be continued without following these requirements.
We do not accept applications from members of other trade associations representing travelling / fairground amusement industry.

and enclose photographs of your equipment together with the applicant's full name and address.
New applicants will be considered at the next meeting.
